Westwood’s elementary program is aligned to the MA Curriculum Frameworks. Teachers work with their grade-level partners as well as building-based literacy and math specialists to continually revise curriculum, improve the quality of instruction, and increase student learning. As part of this work, teachers collaboratively examine student work and assessment data to determine student needs and next steps for instruction. In a student-centered learning environment, classroom teachers differentiate the curriculum and their instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Teachers in Westwood are committed to helping all students to meet or exceed the learning standards.
